Delight

  • Mood: Good
  • Music: Big Band Love Songs
  • Verse: Ps 119:70 "Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in Thy Law."

Here are the answers to the questions I posted the other day.

1. Where do we find this Law/Torah? It is found in the 1st Five books of the Holy Scriptures.

2. What is this Law/Torah?  It is God's Commands on how to live a Holy Life.

3. What does this Law/Torah say?  To love God with all your body, mind, soul and strength and your neighbor as yourself.

4. Do we meditate on this Law/Torah? We should if we don't. To think about what God has to say about living a Holy Life is found there.  Abraham obeyed God's Law.

Gen. 26:5

Because that Abraham obeyed My voice, and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes and My laws.  KJV

Ps 119:77

77 Let Thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for Thy Law is my delight.   KJV

OT:8191
sha` shua` (shah-shoo'-ah); from OT:8173; enjoyment:
KJV - delight, pleasure.

I found this interesting that the word for "Delight" in Hebrew is very close to Jesus name in Hebrew Yeshua.  Be it spelt, like this: OT:3468
yesha` (yeh'-shah); or yesha` (yay'-shah); from OT:3467; liberty, deliverance, prosperity:
KJV - safety, salvation, saving.
(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright (c) 1994, Biblesoft and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

Or like this: OT:3444   yeshuw` ah (yesh-oo'-aw); feminine passive participle of OT:3467; something saved, i.e. (abstractly) deliverance; hence, aid, victory, prosperity:  KJV - deliverance, health, help (-ing), salvation, save, saving (health), welfare.
(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright (c) 1994, Biblesoft and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

Sho'shua and Ye'shua sound so alike .  It seems that we are to Delight in Yeshua and His Law/Torah.

More on Delight in my next posting.  Delight has several Hebrew words, I will post them as well.

Shalom

Delight

  • Mood: Good
  • Music: MBI Radio
  • Verse: Ps 1:2 But his Delight is in Law of YHVH; and in His Law does he meditate day and night.

What is Your Delight?

This week I am going to do a study on the word "Delight".  I will be posting what the Scriptures has to say about the word.  We will see what writers of the Scriptures says was their 'delight'.  And the main question we have to ask ourselves is their delight, our delight?

Ps 1:1-2
1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the Law of the LORD; and in His Law doth he meditate day and night.
KJV

The writer of Psalms 1:2 says, that a person that is not ungodly, nor a sinner nor sits with the scornful is someone who Delights in the Law/Torah of Yahwah.  This person also meditates in His Law/Torah day and night.

1. Where do we find this Law/Torah?

2. What is this Law/Torah?

3. What does this Law/Torah say?

4. Do we meditate on this Law/Torah?

Tomorrow another verse with more questions.

Good night/Lila Tov

Pray for Israel/Jerusalem

  • Mood: Somber
  • Verse: Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. Psalms 122:6

Keep Jerusalem and the Jews in your prayers.

Psalms 122:6

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

Remember God's Eye is on Israel, Jerusalem is the Apple of His Eye.  He will bless those that bless her and curse those that curse her!  Remember also the words of our Saviour, Salvation is of the Jews.  Remember also that God said He would bless those that bless her and curse those that curse her.

Good Morning

  • Mood: A bit tired but Good
  • Music: Big Band Music

Good Morning All,

I forgot I made this journal.  Now that I have found it I plan on using it.

I am trying to think of what I want to use it for, I already have 2 others and now this one. Oy!  It is not like I have a lot to say, but for some reason I wanted to manage a 3rd one.  Go Figure!

Probably make this one my spiritual journal.  I am not a church goer anymore but I do believe in Yeshua/Jesus and I do read the Bible and Pray.

Here is a little about myself.  First off I was raised Baptist, I married a Pentacostal and now we are what is called Messianic.  What is messianic, you ask.  Well, we are believers that Believe in Yeshua/Jesus and Follow the Torah (christians know this word as Law).  We believe that the Torah is valid for Christians as well as the Jew.  That Yeshua did not come to get rid of the Torah but to take it back to its simplity which was lost in the extra rules and regulations of the Jewish leaders.

Some other things about me, I am teaching myself Hebrew.  I like "Lord of the Rings" and I am into Ham Radio.  You can check out the other two journals of mine in the Links list.

Remember, Yeshua came to remove our sins not His Torah.

Peace in Yeshua

Roni
